DATAPORTRAITS&
THE ALGORITHMIC MAZE

Delving into the world of algorithms in reference to the book Radical Technologies: The Design of Everyday Life. I created data portraits of fellow students to prove a point about data collection. By asking a few simple questions and turning the data I received into a visual drawing I could then manipulate the way they would most likely manoeuvre around the space.

Data Portraits

Visualising data in order to translate it into a physical pathway in the space.

DATA PORTRAITS

Creating simple questions and asking participants to answer using a symbol rather than a word or number. Consciously insuring participants where unaware of others answers.

DATA MAPPING

Manipulating these answers to create a map of the site in which the answers would lead the users through the space in a way in which they think they have decided but rather the answers have already been considered
